Don't give up on people

Something I’ve learned: horses are a lot like people. Sometimes they disappoint you, sometimes they screw it up, sometimes they hurt you...bad. Sometimes you give them a chance, and another one, and another and another, and another, and again and again they just throw it away.

But horses, just like people, have so much potential hidden inside of them. Potential to perform, but also potential to accept, to obey, to love. Sometimes it takes years for the fruit to be worked out of the ground. You can get frustrated, you can be righteously upset and angry. But don’t ever give up on them.

Horses, just like people, test others to see who they can trust. And the person they trust is the one who never gives up, who never gives in, who never stops loving them.
