Learning to Listen

You know what's really cool?
How sometimes, in music, you're not sure right away if you're singing the song right, if you're hitting the note, if it even works. But then you do hit it, and immediately, you know. It's the same with God. Sometimes you're not sure if you're meant to do something; if the Holy Spirit is prompting you or if you're just hearing the echoes of a human heart. But then you hear God speak, and you know. Immediately, you just know.

I think that that is also a matter of learning to listen. Learning to listen for the right sound in music, hearing and knowing what works or not. And learning to listen for the Spirit, to discern what God is saying through the Holy Spirit.

I'm learning a lot about music right now, and a lot about hearing God and obeying Him.
Both require practice in order to improve.
You can't expect the Holy Spirit to guide you frequently and comprehensively, if you don't know what it sounds like.
